There are two ways to become an OnlyFans manager: employed at an agency or self-employed with your own. In both cases you look after content planning, marketing, the chat team and your creators' numbers. There is no formal qualification – what counts is organisational skill, an understanding of marketing, discretion and treating creators fairly. You must be an adult (18+).
Which content goes out when and on which platform – agreed with the creator.
Building reach on Instagram, TikTok, Reddit or X and turning it into paying fans.
Onboarding chatters, planning shifts, ensuring quality and transparent guidelines.
Revenue per creator, chat team costs and development across several platforms.
Being a reliable point of contact, respecting boundaries, keeping contracts fair.
Complying with platform rules, data protection and age verification – without sharing passwords.
You learn as part of a team, have a fixed salary and carry no entrepreneurial risk. Good for getting started and for finding out whether the work suits you.

More important than a degree are organisational skills, a feel for social media marketing, reliability and discretion. If you are self-employed, you also need sales skills (winning creators), team leadership and confidence with numbers.
Your attitude matters just as much: the account and the rights stay with the creator, contracts are fair and can be terminated, and fans are not deceived. In this industry, being trustworthy is a real competitive advantage.
Either you apply to an agency and learn the job there, or you start your own agency. Helpful for getting started are experience in social media marketing, organisational skills and a basic understanding of numbers. If you go self-employed, you also need a registered business (the rules depend on your country – in Germany, for example, a trade registration, the “Gewerbe”), fair contracts and a reliable chat team.
Employed managers receive a salary that depends on the agency, their experience and their responsibilities. Self-employed managers earn what is left after commission, chatter costs and fixed costs – this can vary a lot and is often little at the start. With our agency calculator you can work it out using your own assumptions.
Yes. Around creators there are jobs in management, marketing, content planning and chatting. These positions are based at agencies, not at the platform itself.
Chatters are usually paid a fixed amount, a revenue share or a mix of both. What the job looks like and what to watch out for is described on our page “Become an OnlyFans chatter” (in German).
For an employed position, experience in social media, sales or team leadership helps. For self-employment it is almost a must – or good guidance, so that you set up contracts, chat team and numbers correctly from the start.
